CW TV's "The Vampire Diaries" has so many love stories it's hard to choose which one would be the best especially with the newer romances like Paul Wesley and Candice Accola, as well as the ongoing ones with Nina Dobrev and Ian Somerhalder.

While fans have made it clear that their favorite Daniel Sharman love story on-screen is between he and former "Teen Wolf" actress Crystal Reed, beating out "The Originals" Kaleb and Davina (Danielle Campbell), "The Vampire Diaries" is another supernatural driven TV show with a series of complicated relationships.

The love story that started it all was between Stefan and Elena (Paul Wesley and Nina Dobrev). Stefan first appeared in Mystic Falls again after years of learning ways to cope with being a "ripper" and immediately has his eyes set on Elena.

Of course it helps that she bared an extremely striking resemblance to a former love Katherine. However, the classic romance they shared was ultimately ruined by the jealously of Damon (Ian Somerhalder).

Once Damon regained his faith from everyone a romance began among him and Elena who eventually fell for Damon. In this case it looks like the bad boy of the two got the upper hand. In a weird and struggling relationship they suffered the hardships together.

From the danger that Klaus and the rest of his wrecking crew of a family brought to being separated from each other on multiple occasions. Most recently, Damon was whisked away to another time period and his returned made for a very complicated episode in "The More You Ignore Me, The Closer I Get." Elena asked Alaric to strip her of her memories of Damon after his entrapment.

Now that he has returned, she is unable to get them back because Alaric is no longer a vampire. Yet again, more trials and tribulations for the couple courtesy of the crafty writers of "The Vampire Diaries."

Caroline and Tyler's (Michael Trevino) relationship seemed downright bad for each other especially after Caroline and Matt (Zach Roerig) had a fling of their own that didn't quite work out. Matt's buddy Tyler took over after becoming a werewolf. Once Caroline was able to be his rock showing how to deal with a curse as she was able to once turning into a vampire.

Their relationship was the traditional forbidden love.

Things got even more annoying for the two when Klaus came to town and turned Tyler into a hybrid.

Klaus then set his sights on Caroline and forced Tyler to hit the road causing a rift between he and Caroline that was permanent after he found out about her fling with Klaus.

Of course there is also Jeremy (Steven R McQueen) and Bonnie (Kat Graham) that was almost forbidden at first him being Elena's little brother and Bonnie being her best friend. Though it may not have seemed like it, they've had their own hardships.

Jeremy's dead ex-girlfriends along with Bonnie dying and coming back and then leaving again, it proved to be one of the hardest relationships in the show.

Now that Bonnie hasn't come back Jeremy is lashing out and letting all of his emotions out.

Viewers know that Bonnie sacrificed her life for Damon to journey back to Elena as she has always been the most selfless character on the show.

The new season has completely revamped all of the love stories and creating some pretty interesting twists in that department. Of course Elena and Damon are having their own issues especially after she kissed the new guy Liam. Even more interesting is Alaric has finally found someone to get over Jenna.

He is now getting pretty comfy with Jo the new MD who happens to be a witch as well.

On top of Alaric finding love, Tyler has found a way to move on with Liv who saved his life after he barreled into an entire field of innocent party goers.

As interesting as all of those new relationships are, the one between Stefan and Caroline seems the most complicated out of the entire bunch. Caroline always seems to have a hard time finding someone special.

She began falling for Stefan last season and after Stefan went off on his guilt-filled time away it caused a lot of trouble for what looked to be a promising love story.

To make things worst, Stefan used the "F" word (friends) last week which triggered her to become even more frustrated with him.

Relationships both new and old is what "The Vampire Diaries" was built on.

Each fan is sure to have their own favorite but for the sake of something new why not have Caroline and Stefan finally stop playing the back and forth game and give it a go? However, everyone has their favorite, whats yours?
