A lot of people were excited several years ago when Sony allowed the character of Spider-Man to officially appear in the MCU. We've seen Tom Holland's excellent portrayal of the character already in Captain America: Civil War, Spider-Man: Homecoming and more recently Avengers: Infinity War.

Speaking of Avengers: Infinity War, the Russo brothers directed it and a recent Q&A event in City High in Iowa City allowed some students to ask some juicy questions to them.

As posted by someone on Reddit, one person asked the directors if Venom can be a part of the MCU.

Sadly, the Russo brothers said that Venom is unable to be a part of the MCU because he's a "Sony property".

This is sad news considering some of Spider-Man's other villains are in the MCU such as Vulture and Shocker who were both included in Spider-Man: Homecoming.

That said, it does make sense that Venom won't be a part of the MCU since the movie is unlikely going to have many other Marvel characters in it.

However, there are still rumors floating around that Tom Holland makes a cameo in Venom so nothing is clear at the moment as many different people contradict one another.

Venom is still one of the most popular villains in comic book history because the most recent trailer received more views than even Wonder Woman.

Not to mention people are hoping this new effort from Sony erases the horrible rendition of the character we saw over a decade ago in Spider-Man 3.

Anyway, we can all look forward to the Venom movie when it releases in North American cinemas on October 5th, 2018. Hopefully the movie is able to live up to the hype!
