With The Legend of Korra nearing its end. Avatar fans can still get their fix with Smoke and Shadow, a new comic book mini-series that was announced this week.

Smoke and Shadow will focus on Zuko's relationship with Mai, according to Hypable. In the series, his relationship with Mai was fluctuating, and it seems that this trend will continue in Smoke and Shadow.

In addition, The New Ozai Society will threaten Zuko's fledging reign as Fire Lord. Founded by Mai's father, the goals of the organization are unconfirmed.

But, since Ozai was alive at the end of The Last Airbender, it's possible that we might see him return as an antagonist--just without his fire bending.

Appearances from Iroh and Zuko's crazed sister Azula are possible.

There have been several Avatar comics since the conclusion of the television series. They bridge the narrative gap between The Last Airbender and Legend of Korra--exploring what life was like for Aang in his young adult years.

One comic series titled "The Search" focused on Zuko's hunt for his mother, which is something that was never discussed in the show. It was the only question left unanswered at the end of The Last Airbender.

Avatar: The Last Airbender--Smoke and Shadow will be available on September 15, 2015. For more about the franchise, visit its official website here.
