It's been several years since both Matt Hardy and Jeff Hardy left the WWE. Now the popular tag-team might be heading back to the professional wrestling company that made them famous in the first place. This should come as great news for fans of the duo.

According to an exclusive report by Pro Wrestling Sheet, both Matt Hardy and Jeff Hardy have been offered new contracts to return to the WWE. It's expected the pair will re-sign with the WWE, although it's still unknown what type of characters they are able to use.

Right now the Hardys are working at Ring of Honor and are the Tag-Team Champions.

Their deal with ROH is a short-team deal so they are free to work with the WWE very soon. How soon is anyone's guess, but people are hopeful they come back some time after WrestleMania 33 in April.

It's not all good news for The Hardys because they still have beef with their former employer Impact Wrestling.

The new owners of Impact Wrestling are trying their best to prevent the pair from using their "Broken" gimmicks. The Broken gimmick has been popular and reinvented their characters.

If things don't go The Hardys' way, it's possible they will be back in WWE as a nostalgia act.

The Dudleys were brought back in a similar deal a few years ago. The Dudleys were brought back to appeal to the older generation, but were forced to lose to make the new teams look good.

It would be kind of disappointing if The Hardys aren't used to their full capacity if they choose to return to the WWE. The Broken gimmick could be huge in WWE if they are allowed to use it. It will also make for fresh television if they were able to feud with people like The Wyatt Family (if they are back together) or The New Day.
