There is no question that AURORA is one of the most skillful emerging artists of 2016. Her debut album All My Demons Greeting Me as a Friend is out now and it's in one word, intoxicating.

AURORA describes her genre as dark folk-pop and she couldn't be any more spot on with that assessment. Her vocals find the perfect medium between the breathy approach of delivery and natural power. One of the best parts about All My Demons Greeting Me as a Friend is the fact that it's pretty length with a total of 17 tracks on the deluxe version.

The album opens up with a beautiful track titled, "Runaway" that is eerie yet beautiful. She shines her pop chops on "Conqueror" which sprinkles in a bit of the electronic sound as well.

Meanwhile, AURORA's breakout hit "Running With The Wolves" was appropriately featured on MTV's Teen Wolf. Like the show, "Runaway" is a mythical approach to embracing a natural yet supernatural world.

There are times where the music seems somewhat epic and a vision of a post-apocalyptic world.

Her song "Lucky" gives you a sense of rebirth or a second chance and you can't deny the soothing notes and feeling of peace that it brings.

All My Demons Greeting Me as a Friend continues to balance the pop and folk notion with tracks like "Winter Bird" and "I Went Too Far," before the more delicate, beautiful and haunting folky sound of "Through the Eyes of a Child." One of the biggest standout tracks on the albums is "Murder Song (5, 4, 3, 2, 1)" which fluctuates so much in it's tempo and paints a dark image of death. There is so much to be said about this piece of art that is the debut album from AURORA but really and truly the music speaks for itself.

We're really going to look forward to what's ahead from AURORA but in the meantime, All My Demons Greeting Me as a Friend will be in a pretty deep rotation this weekend.
