A few weeks ago, it looked like the match card for WWE Survivor Series 2017 was set in stone.

However, some major late minute changes have been made to the PPV. Both AJ Styles and John Cena have been added to different matches.

Before, WWE Survivor Series 2017 had a main event consisting of Jinder Mahal vs. Brock Lesnar. This was billed as a champion vs.

champion match. On paper, the match seems big but fans soured on it. An all heel main event just didn't seem attractive to a lot of fans.

It seems as if WWE is finally listening to the fans and is giving them what they want.

As seen last night on WWE Smackdown Live, AJ Styles shockingly beat Jinder Mahal to become the new WWE Champion. Not only that, but AJ Styles managed to carry Jinder Mahal to the best match of his career thus far.

Due to the last minute title change, AJ Styles will now go on to face Brock Lesnar at Survivor Series. It's the classic David vs.

Goliath scenario. The fans are sure to get behind Styles who is the huge underdog. It appears the match will no longer have John Cena as a special guest referee.

John Cena has instead got permission to wrestle at Survivor Series 2017. Smackdown Live Commissioner Shane McMahon announced today that John Cena will be a part of his team at the PPV. Smackdown's team consists of Shane McMahon, Randy Orton, Shinsuke Nakamura, Bobby Roode and now John Cena. They will face Raw's Kurt Angle, Jason Jordan, Samoa Joe, Finn Balor and Braun Strowman.

The changes in the match card affect the major heels of Smackdown Live.

As of right now, Jinder Mahal, Sami Zayn, Kevin Owens and Rusev are all left out of the PPV. It will be interesting to see if they manage to still get on the show somehow...
