The Academy Awards Receives Backlash As 'Suicide Squad' Earns A Nomination Over 'Deadpool'

Both Suicide Squad and Deadpool were films that carried a tremendous amount of hype behind it. However, only one of those films delivered to the true expectations of fans all around the world.

Now, insult is being added to injury for plenty of fans who can't believe Suicide Squad was nominated over Deadpool for an Academy Award.

Suicide Squad is nominated for Makeup and Hairstyling for the 2017 Academy Awards.

"I don't want to say it was snubbed, but the Oscars clearly f*cked up," according to Complex writer, Khal.

"It's good to know, though, that because of the internet, we're able to find like-minded people with a few hashtag searches on Twitter."

Following the report, tweets that were either bashing the Academy Awards or simply laughing at the fact that Suicide Squad was nominated over Deadpool were littered below. The Suicide Squad film left a bad taste in the mouths of fans who really expected a lot more.

More importantly, they expected to see a lot more of The Joker, who was the big tease when the first trailer of the film was released.
