This year is looking extra mean from the Top Dawg Entertainment crew featuring Ab-Soul, Kendrick Lamar, ScHoolboy Q, Jay Rock, Isaiah Rashad and SZA. The most recent news from the label might be showing signs that point towards Ab-Soul's album being the first release of 2016.

In the photo below, TDE revealed the stages that each of their promised 2016 albums are in and Ab-Soul's looks to be finished. His album is in the mixing phase according to the chart which means that the tracklist has been decided upon.

Mixing is often the final stage of an album as fans may have picked up on with Kanye West's recently released The Life of Pablo.

Soulo's last album These Days left fans wanting more with it's stellar production and highly intelligent wordplay that Ab-Soul is known for.

It seemed as if ScHoolboy Q would be the first up after the single that was teased on Instagram. However, his album is still in the sample clearance stage.

Meanwhile, both SZA and Isaiah Rashad have albums in the creative stage as Kendrick Lamar and Jay Rock's albums seem to be a big question mark at this point. There are also two new TDE artists that the label is keeping under-wraps for the time being.

If 2016 didn't look good enough, there looks to be a Black Hippy collective project set for 2017. In the meantime fans should probably look out for an Ab-Soul single to drop soon.

Shit about to get nasty real soon... I told y'all I got y'all in 2016 #TDE
