Lots of people expected the next proper X-Men movie to be called "X-Men: Supernova".

Now we have information that the movie won't be called that and it will officially have another name. Supernova was just a code name and the real movie title will be something different.

X-Men movie producer, Simon Kinberg, confirmed this during an interview with Slash Film.

They don't have a real name for the movie yet, but it won't be called Supernova which is the name that has been thrown around. You can look at his comments below.

It's not called Supernova. One of the things we do when we make these X-Men movies, to be totally candid, is -- any of these movies, it's on Star Wars, too -- is you come up with fake names to throw people off the scent and when you're out making the movie, the signs that show you where the locations are say Nova, or whatever the fake title is, and people figure it out, and I don't even know why we do it anymore.

The new movie is expected to start filming later this year and will adapt the "Dark Phoenix" saga from the comics.

20th Century Fox is interested to do this story justice as they butchered it the first time with X-Men: The Last Stand back in 2006.

This time, Sophie Turner's Jean Grey will become the Dark Phoenix since we saw her powers get unleashed at the end of X-Men: Apocalypse.

The X-Men producers also promise the new films will walk away from the Professor X vs. Magneto style of storylines.

We can all agree that this is for the better since that dynamic has been explored too many times. It's about time the movies focus on the dozens of other X-Men characters.
