WWE Fastlane 2017 was on and it was an unpredictable event. Streaks were broken and Goldberg wins the WWE Universal Championship to book himself in the main event of WrestleMania 33.

The main event was really short as Kevin Owens got zero offense. Chris Jericho came out to distract Kevin Owens when the bell rang and Goldberg hit him with a Spear.

After that Goldberg hit Kevin Owens with the Jackhammer and that was the end of the match.

It was literally only two moves to end Owens' title reign. Brock Lesnar didn't come out, but he will be Goldberg's opponent at WrestleMania 33.

There were two other matches that had surprise winners and outcomes. Roman Reigns faced Braun Strowman in an entertaining match.

Sadly for Strowman, his undefeated streak is broken. Roman Reigns managed to pin him clean with a Spear in a brutal match.

The other loser of the night was Charlotte. Charlotte was undefeated in singles matches on PPV and had been winning a lot of times.

Well her streak was also broken by Bayley who pinned her with her belly-to-belly suplex. She did have help somewhat with Sasha Banks

Speaking of Sasha Banks, she managed to overcome Nia Jax in a surprising match. Banks pinned her in a unique move and Nia Jax was unable to kick-out.

It wasn't the squash match that I was predicting. It will be interesting to see how Nia Jax reacts to the shock loss.

My favorite match of the night was Samoa Joe vs. Sami Zayn.

It was not a long match, but both men did a decent effort. Zayn wasn't squashed, even though Joe looked very dominant in the match. Zayn passed out in the end to Joe's coquina clutch.

Unfortunately, the rest of the Fastlane 2017 card was boring and uneventful. Cesaro beat Jinder Mahal and Big Show beat Rusev in two pointless unadvertised matches. Nobody really cared about either of these matches.

The other two title matches had no new winners. Neville easily defeated Jack Gallagher to defend his Cruiserweight Championship. Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson also defended their titles against Enzo Amore and Big Cass.

Overall, Fastlane 2017 was an average PPV that was mildly better thanks to the unpredictable results in the latter end of the event.

It's now four more weeks until WrestleMania 33 so WWE will be doing its best to promote all of the big matches.
