Historically, WWE has been against using WCW named PPVs and TV shows as Vince McMahon hated the competition. Well now it seems that the WWE wants to capitalize on the nostalgia as an upcoming live event will be called Starrcade.

Starrcadde was WCW's version of WrestleMania and was created by the late Dusty Rhodes. This is the first time that the Starrcade name has been used since the year 2000.

It will take place on a Smackdown Live show happening on November 25th smack in the middle oF Thanksgiving weekend.

Several matches have already been booked as you can see down below. Bear in mind, the card is subject to change.

WWE Championship Steel Cage Match

Jinder Mahal vs. Shinsuke Nakamura

SmackDown Women's Championship Steel Cage Match

Natalya vs. Charlotte Flair

United States Championship Triple Threat Match

AJ Styles vs. Baron Corbin vs. Rusev

SmackDown Tag Team Championship Texas Tornado Match

The New Day vs. The Usos

Sami Zayn vs. Kevin Owens

Bobby Roode vs. Dolph Ziggler

Other names expected to appear are the Hardy Boyz, Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat and The Rock 'n' Roll Express. Tickets for this event will go live on September 29th via Ticketmaster.

There has been no word yet if they are going to show this event as part of the WWE Network. One woud think WWE would broadcast this as it seems like a bigger show than the average live event.

It's interesting to note that Randy Orton is not booked on this show.

It's possible WWE is allowing him to take time off to be with his family. Orton has worked for WWE non-stop since 2002 so he has the privilege to get time off when required.
