Coming off the heels of the very successful first movie, Warner Bros.

is fast tracking a sequel. We now have confirmation of the movie's release date, and this time it won't be released in the Summer season like the first film.

Warner Bros. has now announced that the release date for Wonder Woman 2 is December 13th, 2019.

A Holiday season release date will be great if it doesn't have to compete with any other movie. As of right now, only Masters of the Universe is scheduled to open a week later.

Warner Bros. better hope that Disney does not delay the release of Star Wars: Episode IX. Episode IX is scheduled to come out on May 24th, 2019 as of this moment so it's safe for now. Next December though, Aquaman is released around that time.

It's rumored the sequel will be set in the past as the '80s was mentioned. Patty Jenkins is writing the film alongside Geoff Johns.

Gal Gadot is obviously back to play the title character. The new movie is also speculated to take place during the Cold War with Wonder Woman going up against the Soviet Union.

It won't be the only movie released in 2019 that features a tough female superhero.

Captain Marvel is also released in 2019 that is set in the '90s. It's cool to finally see female superheroes getting the spotlight after all of these years.

For now, the first Wonder Woman is still making a lot of money at the domestic Box Office. It has now become the highest grossing Summer film in North America in 2017.

It just passed Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 a few days ago. From a worldwide standpoint, the film has earned $780.3 million.
