Shermine Shahrivar has been making headlines lately for her relationship with rich playboy and Fiat heir Lapo Elkann. Now, several outlets are reporting that the two are engaged. So who is this mystery woman?

On August 6th, the Austrian newspaper Kurier thrust Shermine Shahrivar into the spotlight by pronouncing that she got engaged to Lapo Elkann.
Elkann, who is an heir to the Fiat fortune and is an entrepreneur in his own right, is seen as one of the most eligible bachelors in Europe, often showing up in sexiest and best-dressed lists.
The couple only met a few months ago in May. Shermine Shahrivar was in Cannes for the famous Cannes film festival when she was introduced to Elkann, who was also in attendance.
According to the Kurier, the two have since been inseparable. Rumors of the engagement began when Elkann posted this photo on Instagram, showing Shahrivar with a mysterious ring:
Although there has been no official confirmation of the engagement, both the Kurier and German newspaper Bild are reporting it.
Shermine Shahrivar the German-Iranian Bombshell
Shermine Shahrivar was born in Iran but moved to Aachen, Germany when she was very young. She is a German citizen who reportedly speaks four different languages and has studied social science as well as acting.
She won the Miss Germany competition in 2004, followed by the Miss Europe competition in 2005. She also hosted a German television show.
In the tabloids, Shermine Shahrivar has been romantically linked to many famous men, including Prince Albert of Monaco, Twilight actor Xavier Samuel, and German film star Thomas Kretschmann. She has even been photographed cozying up to Kanye West.
In 2012 Shermine Shahrivar began dating designer Markus Klossek, according to Benix. She had a daughter named Aurelia Dhalia, whom she calls "Lady D." Shahrivar's daughter is prominently featured in many of her Instagram photos.
Shahrivar has a taste for fine things, often taking pictures of herself in expensive cars, on private islands, and aboard yachts.
Will Shermine Shahrivar and Lapo Elkann make it down the aisle? The Kurier snidely notes that Elkann normally "changes his model girlfriends on a two-year cycle" (translated). It remains to be seen whether Shahrivar will break that cycle.
