2017 has been a good year for movies, and Warner Bros has had an impressive list this year. The studio has crossed the $5 billion mark worldwide which is a record for them.

As reported by Deadline, this is only the second time Warner Bros has crossed the $5 billion mark in a calendar year. Not to mention five of its films have earned over $500 million globally.

The five films that were the studio's highest earners include: Wonder Woman, It, Justice League, Kong: Skull Island and Dunkirk. I have yet to see It, but I enjoyed the rest of the movies on the list.

The only other studio to have reached the $5 billion mark this year too is Disney. Disney is likely going to be the top earner in 2017 thanks to its list of Marvel movies as well as Star Wars: The Last Jedi.

In related news, Justice League reached a minor milestone of its own today. As noted by Variety, the movie has crossed the $200 million mark in North America.

This is the 10th time a movie has done this in 2017. It reached this benchmark after 19 days since it came out last month.

On a worldwide front, the movie has earned over $570 million worldwide thus far. Even though this is a respectable number, it's still low compared to all of the other DCEU movies that have been released to date.

Warner Bros won't be releasing another superhero film until December 2018 with the release of Aquaman. The studio is hoping the movie can be a success like Wonder Woman so other DC films can have a brighter future.
