WWE issued a new press release earlier today confirming that Brock Lesnar has re-signed a new contract with the WWE. However, we now have news on the status of Lesnar's contract and how it will affect his UFC career too.

Anyway, the press release issued confirms that Lesnar has re-signed with WWE and he will face Roman Reigns again later this month in Saudi Arabia.

Lesnar is set to defend his Universal Title against Roman Reigns in a huge cage match.

For those wondering, this event in Saudi Arabia will be streaming live on the WWE Network. The event also includes a 50-man Royal Rumble match, John Cena vs Triple H and more.

The fact that Lesnar has re-signed is an indication as to why Lesnar still beat Reigns at WrestleMania 34. Lesnar signed a new multi-year deal with WWE, but he has some other benefits to the new contract too.

As reported by Fightful.com's Steven Muehlhausen on Twitter, Lesnar's WWE contract will also allow him to fight in the UFC too. This is thanks to Lesnar's part-time status and both companies offering different forms of entertainment.

Steven Muehlhausen posted the following about Lesnar's contract status. You can read his full announcement on the matter down below.

"The plan is for Lesnar to fight one time this year vs the winner between Stipe Miocic-Daniel Cormier fight at UFC 226. Lesnar still has to formally reenter the USADA drug testing pool and finish his suspension which is around 6 months."

WWE owner Vince McMahon still wants to keep Lesnar in the company as he views him and Ronda Rousey as the two biggest attractions.

This is a reason why McMahon is allowing Lesnar to do both MMA and professional wrestling at the same time!
