Terminator 6 Release Date Has Been Pushed Back To Fall 2019

The Terminator film franchise has had a pretty bumpy road since the classic Terminator 2: Judgment Day, with not a single movie coming out in the series that was critically acclaimed.

Following the failure of the attempted reboot in 2015 with Terminator Genisys, even with Arnold Schwarzenegger on board, the series is truly going back to its roots with James Cameron involved with the next entry.

While it was originally scheduled for release next Summer, it has now been revealed that the untitled Terminator 6 has been pushed back by a few months.

According to Variety, Paramount Pictures has revealed that they have pushed back the release date of Terminator 6 to November 22, 2019 from its original date of July 26, 2019.

This isn't a huge surprise since we've heard so little about the movie, but it's not too much of a delay.

We first thought this delay might have something to do with Schwarzenegger's recent heart procedure, but the report from Variety says that is in fact not the case and this delay was planned before that happened.

Terminator 6 is certainly one to look out for, as James Cameron finally returns as producer this time, though not in the director's chair. This time will have Tim Miller, who directed Deadpool, so the franchise is in good hands. 

While Genisys was an attempt at a reboot, even with Schwarzenegger involved, this one is looking to go back and continue the story of the original movies.

In fact, they are saying this one will be a direct sequel to Terminator 2: Judgment Day, seeming to mean they are retconning Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines of of continuity.

In addition to the return of Cameron and Schwarzanegger, Linda Hamilton will also be reprising her role as Sarah Connor for the first time since the second movie, which makes us even more excited.

Look for the untitled Terminator 6 to arrive in theaters on November 22, 2019.
