Mewtwo, the most powerful of the original 151 Pokemon, is returning to Super Smash Bros.

Go Nintendo--among other outlets-- broke the story. They posted an image of the psychic Pokemon on their Instagram account.

You will need to buy both the Wii U and 3DS version of the game in order to play as the super-powered psychic. Mewtwo made his first Smash appearance in Melee for the Gamecube.

But he was removed from Brawl in favor of Lucario.

Fans know Mewtwo as the infamous Pokemon from the Red and Blue versions; he resided in a cave guarded by a man insistent that the player wasn't strong enough to encounter the dangers lurking inside. This, however, changed after the player defeated the Elite Four.

The man removed himself from the cave's entrance, and the player was free to explore it. Mewtwo was on level 70 when the player first encountered him and catching him was a task best left to the Master Ball.

Mewtwo also made an appearance in Pokemon X and Y. He resided in a cave, like in Red and Blue, and was given two different Mega Evolutions.

Which Mega Evolution form he evolved into depended on the whether the player had X or Y.

Super Smash Bros. for Wii U lanches on November 21. Super Smash Bros. for 3DS is now available. For more information about the franchise, visit its official website here. For more information about Pokemon, go here.
