We can all agree that Star Wars: The Force Awakens was a light-hearted film for the majority of it.

Sure there were some sad and shocking moments, but the tone of the film wasn't somber throughout it. Daisy Ridley who plays Rey says Star Wars: The Last Jedi has a more ominous tone.

Ridley revealed this new piece of information during an interview with StarWars.com. She says that Star Wars: The Last Jedi "definitely has a more ominous tone".

She also says that Rey will be more overwhelmed by the Force in this new movie.

This is similar to The Empire Strikes Back. That sequel was a little more deep and darker compared to A New Hope where the good guys win.

It's possible The Last Jedi will reveal more of the dark past between Kylo Ren and Luke Skywalker. There must have been a reason why Kylo Ren was attracted to the dark side and nearly killed every Jedi in existence.

Mark Hamill also says the relationship between Rey and Luke should be different to that of Luke and Yoda. As you may know already, Yoda was more comedic towards Luke when they first met each other.

Yoda wanted to test if Luke was determined to learn the ways of the Force.

From the sounds of things, Luke might not be that open to Rey when he first meets her. He still feels guilty about losing Kylo Ren to the dark side.

John Boyega stated that for his character Finn, Finn decides to stay and fight alongside the Resistance.

Even though he got injured during The Force Awakens, Finn no longer wants to run away so he fights to get revenge on The First Order.

Anyway, you can watch more interviews with the cast and crew in the video posted below.
