Sonic the Hedgehog, SEGA's iconic mascot, now has an official Pinterest account. The news broke today via Twitter, SEGA invited fans to keep up with the anthropomorphic blue speed demon on his new social media page.

The page has the following sections: Sonic Costumes, Sonic Back to School, Sonic Theme Party, Sonic the Hedgehog Games, Sonic Comics, Sonic Apparel for Kids, Sonic Apparel for Adults, Sonic the Hedgehog Toys, Sonic at Home, Sonic the Hedgehog Cosplay, Sonic Music, Sonic the Hedgehog Concept, and other related pages.

Sonic competed with Mario for video game dominance in the nineties. But the mascot's popularity has faded in the new millennium; Sonic the Hedgehog, known infamously as Sonic '06, is considered one of the worst games ever created.

Every aspect of the game was panned, from the glitch-ridden boss battles to the unnecessary addition of Silver the Hedgehog.

But SEGA is attempting to bring Sonic back to prominence; Sonic Boom is a reboot of their mascot that features reimagined characters and a new story arc. The Sonic Boom video game will be accompanied by a television series of the same title.

In addition, Sonic remains a featured character in Nintendo's popular Super Smash Bros. series, which is set to have a major release in America in October.
