Edge of Tomorrow was arguably the best movie of 2014, although not much has been said about the sequel for the movie.

Now the director of the first film has revealed what the sequel will be called and confirmed that some major stars are set to return.

We Got This Covered interviewed Doug Liman who directed the first Edge of Tomorrow movie back in 2014. He gave us an update to the sequel which is still in production.

The title of the movie sounds very unique since it's the same repetitive cycle the characters had to endure in the first film. Liman's comments can be seen below.

I'm actively working on Edge of Tomorrow 2 right now, which is going to go by the title Live Die Repeat and Repeat. Tom Cruise and Emily Blunt are both signed on.

The first film had a conclusive ending, so it will be interesting to see what threats await the characters in this sequel.

The film was like watching a video game character repeating and dying on the same mission over and over again. Tom Cruise had to figure out how to get past his mission by repeatedly dying many times.

It's unknown at this stage what this sequel could be about.

It's possible the aliens from the first movie want revenge on the characters of Tom Cruise and Emily Blunt since they thwarted their plans last time.

The title for the film also suggests it will keep the gimmick of the characters repeating the same cycle over and over again.

The first movie earned over $370 million at the worldwide box office and was critically acclaimed by both critics and fans.

It also further solidified both Tom Cruise and Emily Blunt as bankable action stars. Hopefully this sequel allows them to find similar success.
