Before Avengers: Infinity War came out, the MCU movie that had the highest advanced ticket sales was Black Panther which came out earlier this year.

The strong ticket sales propelled the film to have an excellent Box Office opening weekend of well over $200 million.

However, Disney might be overtaking itself once again as 2018 has been ruled by the movie studio.

This is because tracking for Solo: A Star Wars Story has been going really well despite some negative press the movie has been receiving over the last couple of months.

As reported by Fandango (via ScreenRant), the first 24 hours of presale tickets for Solo: A Star Wars Story is outpacing Black Panther at the moment.

At the time of its release, Black Panther had been outselling lots of movies aside from the aforementioned Avengers: Infinity War.

It's also a good sign that fans that have been surveyed are keen to watch the two main characters in the movie.

As expected, Han Solo is the character most people want to see, but he's followed closely by Lando Carlrissian played by the popular actor Donald Glover.

Box Office tracking for the film is in line with the movie tickets selling well because it's estimated Solo: A Star Wars Story will have a four-day weekend of over $170 million in North America.

This number could grow if word of mouth of the film is healthy.

The fact that the film is tracking well goes to show us how strong the Star Wars brand really is.

Even though many people did not like Star Wars: The Last Jedi, movie goers will always show up to watch the next Star Wars movie coming out.
