It appears as if Shazam will start filming very soon as the movie will be shot in Toronto. Principal photography is scheduled to be shot in early 2018 since the film is aiming for a 2019 release date.

As shown on What's Filming, the website shows the location and dates for several movies. Shazam is expected to start filming on February 5th 2018 and ends until May 4th, 2018.

The working title for the movie is "Franklin". The dates of filming is interesting because it may impact the schedule for a certain person that is rumored to star in the movie.

It was reported a few weeks ago that John Cena is rumored to play the lead role in the movie. John Cena has started to get major roles in Hollywood and is no longer working for the WWE on a full-time basis.

If he is cast in the role of Shazam, he could be missing out on performing at WrestleMania 34. WrestleMania 34 is happening on April 8th, 2018 which is when the DC movie will be filming.

It's possible Cena could get the role which is why the WWE is doing all of the big matches that they can before he goes away again. WWE has booked Cena in a big match against Roman Reigns later this month at the No Mercy PPV. Many people thought they would have saved such as big match for WrestleMania 34. If Cena isn't around for WrestleMania 34, this could be a reason why the company is giving us such a big match already.

The movie Shazam is expected to be a lot more light-hearted and fun compared to other movies in the DCEU portfolio. Cena is perfect for the role due to his friendly and positive image.
