Shazam is going to be another movie in the DCEU, but it won't have the dark tone set by the likes of Man of Steel and Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.

The movie will be more lighthearted in nature that will be fun and entertaining.

The person directing Shazam is David Sandberg and he talked about his direction for the movie in an interview with the Toronto Sun.

It won't be "realistic" or "gritty" because it will celebrate the fact that this character has superpowers. You can read Sandberg's comments below.

The big attraction for me with that character is the fact that every kid dreams of being Superman, right? I mean I certainly did, and (Billy Batson) is a kid that gets that chance. He gets to become the superhero. So it'll be big with superpowers in a way. In terms of what people can expect, I think this will be one of the more fun or lighthearted movies so far in the DC universe. It certainly will be a departure

It sounds like it will be the complete opposite of how Superman reacted in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. In that movie, Clark Kent felt depressed having superpowers as he felt nobody appreciated him.

Not to mention people like Batman accusing him of being a monster. Shazam on the other hand might celebrate the fact about being a superhero.

Even though the movie is due out sometime in 2019, no actors have been attached to the project so far. They will need to cast two characters for the main lead.

One is the kid Billy Batson while an adult will play the heroic Shazam. It's being said Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson's Black Adam won't appear in this movie so we may see another villain first.
