The Cloverfield movie series has been pretty popular with both fans and critics. However, the newest Netflix exclusive called The Cloverfield Paradox is getting hammered by critics with some fans calling it the worst one of the series.

If you visit Rotten Tomatoes, you can see that the rating for The Cloverfield Paradox is currently only at a very low 16 percent. The average score is 4.4/10 meaning most reviewers gave it around 2 out of 5 stars.

As of time of writing, there are only 39 reviews counted so far. Only six reviews are positive while the remaining 32 reviews are rotten showcasing that a majority of critics just hate the movie.

This is a far cry from the previous movies in the series. The first Cloverfield movie has a respectable rating of 77 percent on Rotten Tomatoes while 10 Cloverfield Lane has a very good 90 percent rating from critics.

Even the audience score for the third movie is lower than the previous entires with a rating of 62 percent. This is lower than the audience scores of 68 percent and 79 percent for Cloverfield and 10 Cloverfield Lane respectively.

The film was released suddenly overnight on Netflix with absolutely no marketing whatsoever aside from one Super Bowl commercial. Despite the immediate release, the Netflix deal that Paramount Pictures made means the film is already profitable.

It will be interesting to see how the franchise goes from here on out. A fourth movie could still happen with people unsatisfied with this latest entry.

Anyway, have you watched The Cloverfield Paradox yet? Do you agree with the critics that it's the worst movie in the series to date?
