Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson is one of the busiest men in Hollywood and he is set to release yet another movie.

He will star in a new movie called 'Skyscraper' that is due for release in 2018. A release date for the film is already set.

Dwayne Johnson made the announcement over on this Instagram page.

Skyscraper will be released on July 13th, 2018 and the movie is being produced by both Universal Studios and Legendary Pictures. He said that they have been developing this movie for over two years now.

The movie starts shooting already this August over in China and the movie is written and directed by Rawson Thurber. The Rock previously worked with Thurber in 2016's Central Intelligence. Thurber also directed and wrote Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story.

Even though Thurber is experienced with comedy films, it doesn't sound like Skyscraper will be a comedy at all. The Rock says the movie will take place on the " world's largest skyscraper - that's on fire".

In the movie, The Rock's wife and kids are trapped and he has to save them. The Rock already saved people's lives in San Andreas which was about a deadly Earthquake.

His character is a disabled US War Vet and a former "FBI Hostage Rescue Team leader." The film is inspired by the many disabled US veterans that The Rock has had the chance to meet over the years.

He wanted to make a movie about real-life superheroes that dig deep to save the ones that love despite having their own obstacles to overcome.

The Rock's schedule is fully booked that it's hard to comprehend how he is able to find all of the time to do everything.

He's releasing The Fate of the Furious, Baywatch and Jumanji 2 later this year. Not to mention he's also releasing Fighting with my Family in 2018 and a Black Adam film is in the pipeline too.
