For whatever the reason may be, we've all seen videos of buildings collapsing without warning.

When this happens many people end up trapped within the fallen structure with no way of helping themselves other than praying for rescue dogs to find them. Researchers at University of California are looking to fix this.

These researchers have developed a system that allows a team of robots to team up and see through walls and/or crumbled buildings by beaming wifi signals to one another.

People can then monitor the fluctuations in signal strength to determine where objects or people are inside, its sort of how some bats use echolocation to determine distance between objects.
