Rey and Finn made for a great team when they were together for the majority of Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Even their actors Daisy Ridley and John Boyega loved working with one another during the seventh Star Wars film.

However, Star Wars: The Last Jedi was a different kind of movie and Rey and Finn did not see each other until the very end of the film.

Rey hung out with Luke Skywalker for most of the time while Finn was paired up with Rose Tico.

This was kind of upsetting for both Daisy Ridley and John Boyega because both of them missed working with each other.

Well the two of them should be happy because their characters are reportedly paired up again for the upcoming release of Star Wars: Episode IX.

As reported by Slash Film, John Boyega commented at the Awesome Con event that Rey and Finn should be back together again in the new movie. You can read Boyega's comment on the matter down below.

“I haven’t read the script for Episode 9. But Daisy did shoot me a text saying, “Oh my gosh, I just heard from J.J. [Abrams], and we’re back together. That’s what I’m really excited about, is Finn and Rey back together again.”

The chemistry between Rey and Finn was one of the reasons why many people like The Force Awakens. It's great to see that director JJ Abrams wants to exploit the friendship between the two characters further in the third movie.

It will be interesting to see what happens to Rose Tico in Star Wars: Episode IX. The character might get a little bit jealous if Finn keeps hanging around Rey all of the time instead of her in the new movie...
