Acclaimed pioneers of alternative rock--The Replacements--continue their reunion with a smattering of new show dates in April and May 2015. This is their first full-fledged U.S. tour in nearly 24 years.

This time in the year 1989, The Replacements were debuting "Don't Tell A Soul," which was meant to be their commercial breakthrough.

It never happened, but the band has a diehard following.

They disbanded in 1991, each member of the group choosing to pursue individual projects, until original members Tommy Stinson and Paul Westerberg reunited in 2012 with no promise that each show would not be the last -- though that was always typical of the 'Mats..

The reunited band has played festivals for the past year or so, as well as headlining shows in New York and their native Minneapolis, and will now tour various cities around the country before heading off to a Europe to headline Primavera Sound 2015 in Barcelona.

The current lineup features original members Westerberg and Stinson, with drummer Josh Freese and bassist Dave Minehan. Tickets for the shows will be available on February 20 via ticketmaster.com.

The tour dates were announced via the band's official Facebook page on February 9:
