Originally, Toy Story 4 was supposed to come out in 2018, but its release date has been delayed by one extra year. A possible reason for the movie's one year long delay has now been revealed.

Annie Potts, the voice of Bo Peep, revealed in an interview with Radio Times that the script for Toy Story 4 had to be changed. You can read her comments about the matter posted down below.

"[Toy Story 4] was supposed to come out this year and then they threw out three-quarters of it and rewrote. Usually, it takes – from start to finish – two years. But because they threw most of it in the bin and started over [my time on the project has] been extended a little bit. I’ve done a lot of work on it."

It sounds like Disney and Pixar were not happy with the original script so a lot of rewrites had to be done.

This is actually pretty common in the movie industry because a lot of films go through rewrites and even re-shoots.

The likes of Solo: A Star Wars Story and Justice League are a few examples of movies that changed a lot during production.

Toy Story 4 is now going to be released in June 2019, although plans could change at the last minute.

It will be interesting to see if the movie is able to have a good story because the franchise already had a decent ending during the conclusion of Toy Story 3.
