Calling it a "sardine can" and saying that at his age he does not have anything to lose Pope Francis may be ditching the Popemobile.

The vehicle, which looks like a golf cart with a bulletproof glass bubble on it was created to protect the pontiff while he waves at the public.

Pope Francis however prefers to actually interact with people and does not see how he can shake hands or otherwise touch people while trapped in a bubble, The Today Show reported.

Though the Pope acknowledges that leaving the safety of the vehicle puts him in additional danger he seems willing to face that danger.

This is a Pope who clearly walks the walk and talks the talk as he has expressed a willingness to place his fate "in God's hands."

This continues the new Pope's policy of breaking from tradition and eschewing the trappings of his office. Pope Francis has tried to not just say he's a man of the people but actually live like one.
