After the critically disappointing start to the DC Extended Universe through its first three movies, Wonder Woman managed to turn things around with one of the best superhero movies to date.

A sequel from the same director, Patty Jenkins, was quickly announced and now an actor has been cast in a mysterious key role.

According to Variety, Narcos star Pedro Pascal has joined the cast of Wonder Woman 2 in a key role that has not been revealed as of yet.

For those that may not have watched Narcos, you may recognize Pascal from his standout role in Game of Thrones' fourth season as Oberyn Martell or from last year's Kingsman: The Golden Circle as Statesmen member Whiskey.

He will also be seen in the upcoming Denzel Washington led film The Equalizer 2 that hits theaters this July.

We really do not know too much about the movie so far outside of a few announcements.

We know that Jenkins will be returning as writer, director, and producer, so we know that it should maintain the same level of quality as the first film.

There are plenty of rumors that peg Wonder Woman 2 being set during the 1980s during the latter days of the Cold War.

It has been confirmed however that the movie will have Cheetah as the villain, played by Kristen Wiig.

This is still a very interesting casting based on his line of comedic films mostly in his career, but I definitely have faith in Jenkins with this one.

Wonder Woman 2 is set to release in theaters on November 1,2019 after being pushed up from its original December 2019 release date.

Before then, we'll get the solo Aquaman movie laster this year after his debut in last year's Justice League, as well as Shazam! next year.
