There's been a lot of talk lately about Brock Lesnar' status in the WWE. The interesting part is that wrestling journalists have not been able to pinpoint if Lesnar's absence on Raw this week was part of a storyline, or something more real.

Whatever the case may be, it seems as if Lesnar is happy to work the remaining dates left on his current WWE contract. Paul Heyman posted a small update on his client's status in a Twitter message posted below.

The reigning defending undisputed @WWE #UniversalChampion @BrockLesnar and I fully intend to honor our contractual obligations and therefore will indeed appear LIVE at the @UnitedCenter this Saturday night in #Chicago.

It's fully expected that Brock Lesnar will still honor his previous obligations for wrestling at WrestleMania 34 against Roman Reigns for the Universal title. After WrestleMania 34 though, Lesnar could leave the company in favor of doing legit competition again in UFC.

Lesnar is a hard person to negotiate with because the man expects to be paid a lot of money for as little work as possible.

WWE bowed to his demands the first time around thanks to the publicity he made when he was in the UFC for the first time.

That said, WWE may not need to pay Lesnar lots of money anymore since they have now got Ronda Rousey on the roster. Rousey is also a former UFC champion that gets a lot of mainstream sports media attention already.

Not to mention WWE should use Lesnar's absence as a chance to push new stars to the main event scene.

Someone like Braun Strowman is more than ready to carry the WWE into the future as he's a big guy that fans already love.
