Patty Jenkins And Other Iconic Females Getting Their Own Barbie Dolls From Mattel

To help celebrate International Women's Day, Mattel is set to release special versions of Barbie that have the likenesses of 17 very iconic female role models. This includes Wonder Woman director Patty Jenkins as well as snowboarder Chloe Kim among others.

Patty Jenkins actually posted on Twitter a little thank you to Mattel. You can read her comments posted down below.

Can't express how totally mind blowing and delightful it is to have your childhood favorite resemble you!!  Thank you @Barbie for this incredible honor, and for celebrating all kinds of women, everywhere. What a great way to inspire the girls of tomorrow! Wonderful.

As reported by the Daily Mail, lots of other famous females are also getting the Barbie treatment.

The full toy lineup includes: Chloe Kim, Amelia Earhart, Frida Kahlo, Katherine Johnson, Bindi Irwin, Vickey Martin Berrocal, Xiaolong Guan, Sara Gama, Chloe Kim, Martyna Wojciecowska, Nicola Adams, Yuan Yuan Tan, Patty Jenkins, Helene Darroze, Hui Ruaqi and Leyla Piedayesh.

In case you are wondering, Wonder Woman herself does not need a new Barbie doll as Gal Gadot already has several from the DC movies she has starred in.

Mattel usually does special dolls for people that don't normally get their own action figures.

International Women's Day is happening all over the world on March 8th, 2018. This is a nice gesture from Mattel to immortalize these famous women in Barbie form.

Mattel did not mention when the dolls will be available, but they should be released sometime later this year at retail stores around the world. Look out for a future announcement that is sure to be coming very soon.
