For now Greg "Opie" Hughes and Jim Norton are still broadcasting in the slot the "Opie & Anthony" show aired in on SiriusXM.

While the show has struggled to find a rhythm since the firing of long-time cohost Anthony Cumia, something Opie readily admits on air, it's still better than pretty much anything else on SiriusXM. Hughes and Norton have been bringing in lots of comedians and while different, the show has been solidly entertaining. Because of that one would think it's possible that the satellite provider would want to extend the deal of a show that remains one of its biggest draws.

That seems unlikely however as Opie said earlier this week that in a contract year with his and Norton's deals expiring in October normally the company and the hosts would already be negotiating.

The fact that that is not happening suggests that October may mark the end of Opie with Jim Norton's short run.

Of course it's also possible that Opie and Norton have no interest in staying with the satellite provider. Opie has openly talked about not knowing where his future lies and even if he has a place on air.

Cumia launches the subscription-based Anthony Cumia Show Monday at 4 p.m.. He has said he would be doing that program solo but has suggested he would consider reuniting with his old partners for a morning program.
