It didn't take long for the NYPD Commissioner Bill Bratton to issue a statement on the T.I.

concert shooting. In the interview, Bratton points the finger towards rap music and the fact that rappers also associate themselves with the same crowd they grew up with even after the money and fame.

"The crazy world of these so-called rap artists who are basically thugs that basically celebrate violence they did all their lives, and unfortunately that violence often times manifests itself during their performances, and that's exactly what happened last evening," said Commissioner Bill Bratton.

The statement groups rappers in a category and Bratton continued to say, "You'd like to think that with all the wealth that comes from the fame, that they'll be able to turn their lives around but they continue hanging out with the same people they hung out with when they came out of that world of desperation, poverty, and crime."

The concert was supposed to take place on Wednesday night, May 25 at Irving Plaza in New York City, however, it was cancelled due to five shots being fired leaving one dead according to TMZ.

The shooting is still under investigation but Bratton hopes to have the shooting wrapped up soon.
