It's been a while since we have heard of a new Fozzy song.

This is mainly because frontman Chris Jericho had been wrestling in the WWE for over a year. Well it seems as if the musical hiatus did wonders for the band as Fozzy's new song called 'Judas' sounds awesome.

I have been listening to this band for many years ever since Chris Jericho started it back in the early '00s.

Their earlier material sounded great as it featured heavy riffs and Jericho's voice sounded aggressive when it needed to be. To me, this new song called 'Judas' is a return to form for the band.

I'm not sure what other people think, but I had been disappointed by the band's last two albums.

This is because Jericho used a more high pitch and screechy voice to many of the songs. I didn't really like the sound of the choruses in the recent songs as it sounded like Jericho's voice was about to crack.

Thankfully, Judas does away with the high pitch voice as Jericho's tone is far more relaxed and aggressive when it needs to be.

The over excessive shouting is gone as this song is more in line with their older albums. If you didn't like their recent stuff like me, Judas is something older fans will appreciate.

In terms of the music itself, it has a cool deep riff throughout. The main riff is not too fast, but it has elements of Metallica's "Dream No More" thrown in there.

The song runs for just over 4 minutes and it doesn't get too repetitive or boring. The only thing I think the song lacks is a good lengthy guitar solo.

Anyway, you can check out the song for yourself in the video below. Hopefully this is a sign for good things to come in the new untitled album. Fozzy is back and better than ever!
