There are very few guests that Howard Stern openly lusts after but Neil Young would have to be at the top of that list.

Stern has always been an unabashed fan of the singer/songwriter/music icon and he has praised him often on the air.

Stern announced Tuesday that Young would be appearing on the program soon.

The host was lavish with his praise as usual noting that of the three songs he knows how to play on his guitar, one of them is by Young.

The singer has never appeared on the Stern Show in person but he did send in a video which was played during Stern's 60th birthday spectacular.

In the video, Young was shown making coffee and offering birthday wishes. "What are you now -- 45? Fantastic!" he said to Stern.

In addition to Young, Stern also announced that Ed Sheeran and Brian Wilson of the Beach Boys will be appearing on future programs.
