The fifth episode of this season of NCIS brings viewers out to sea on a new age pirate raid.

Working with the Coast Guard, the team pulled a dead, water-logged corpse from the sea.

The body belonged to Drew Willis, the security officer of The San Dominick, a cargo ship with a suspicious trajectory that just caught the attention of NCIS.

Gibbs and CGIS Agent Dorin board The San Dominick and question the Captain about why he nor his crew answered the radio and swaying off course. The Captain believeed Willis slipped overboard, and it was purely accident.

"I'm telling you, as Captain of this ship, there is absolutely nothing illegal or suspicious," the Captain tells Gibbs, seconds before he crumbles to the ground, injured by a heavily bleeding stab wound.

Gibbs discovers the radio room spotted in blood splatters. He also finds an oddly coded message on the floor, and a a de-wired, sabotaged transmitter radio.

At this point, Gibbs is pissed, and demands to know the identity of the strange man who has been following them closely around the ship, but not in time.

The man in question is a violent pirate who boarded the ship impersonating Drew Willis, and he suddenly emerged and pulled a machine gun on Gibbs.

He proceeded to hold him and other crew members hostage. His demands: $10 million, and he gave Dinozzo and Agent Dorin, over the USS Serano, an hour to get the goods.

To save another innocent crew member, Gibbs agrees to let the pirate lead him away from the rest of the hostages.

Gibbs promptly overpowers him and shoots him in the leg, then interrogates him for answers about the leader, the rest of the hijackers, and their motives.

Meanwhile, back at headquarters, Bishop, Abby, and McGee discovered the hijacking pirates were actually a bunch of petty pawns set in place to cover up a much bigger crime: money laundering.

On board The San Dominick, Gibbs was searching for the last of the pirates--and the pirates bounty--in the cargo hold on the ship. He found the empty cargo hold that the pirates were guarding, but he also found a bomb.

Dinozzo and Agent Dorin show up to help Gibbs, and tell the pirates that they were apart of one big scheme, set up to take the fall for the big guys.

The empty cargo hold was supposed to hold millions in laundered money.

In the end, Gibbs diffused the bomb, and it turned out it was the stabbed Captain was behind the scheming all along.

In the empty cargo hold, the NCIS team found a sample of the chewing tobacco the Captain admitted was his bad habit.

Everyone deserved what they got, all in a day for the NCIS.
