MEGADETH Is Wrapping Up 2016 With A Bang

MEGADETH kicked off 2016 with the release of their 15th studio album Dystopia (UMe / Tradecraft / T-Boy Records).

The band received a GRAMMY nomination, hosted and performed at this years' Revolver Music Awards, where they picked up Best Guitarist (Dave Mustaine and Kiko Loureiro) and Best Drummer (Chris Adler) awards, and band leader Dave Mustaine was presented with a Lifetime Achievement award.

The week was followed by NYC promo where they also performed their GRAMMY nominated song "Dystopia" on Late Night With Seth Meyers.

Dystopia debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard Top 200 chart, alongside Adele and Justin Bieber, No.1 on the Hard Music/Top Rock Chart, No. 2 Top Album Sales Chart, peaked at No. 27 at radio, and marked the highest charting album for MEGADETH since 1992's Countdown To Extinction, which debuted at No.

2. Dystopia also debuted at No. 2 on iTunes' Top Albums chart, No. 1 on iTunes' Metal chart, and is featured in the Best of 2016: Metal playlist on Spotify with the title track "Dystopia" featured in their Top Tracks in Metal list.

Dystopia made national Top 2016 lists including Rolling Stone's 20 Best Metal Albums of 2016, (No. 6 on), Revolver's Top 20 Metal Albums of 2016 (No. 2) and Loudwire's 20 Best Albums of 2016 (No. 12) as well as their Best Metal Songs on 2016 (No. 2) for the title track "Dystopia."

MEGADETH spent 2015/2016 touring the world in support of Dystopia including shows in 4 continents, 33 countries and 160 tour dates. Reviews from the shows all echoed the same sentiment:

Dave Mustaine oversaw production and launched Megadeth beer "A Tout Le Monde." The Belgium style Saison Ale, is in partnership with Unibroue, one of the most highly awarded breweries in North America. The first batch is already completely sold out.

Dave Mustaine hosted the Classic Rock Awards in Japan.

In addition to his hosting duties, he joined Jimmy Page, Jeff Beck, Johnny Depp, Joe Perry, Rudolph Schenker and others for an all-star performance to the sold out audience at Ryogoku Kokugikan Stadium.

The movie LANDFILL HARMONIC was released, a documentary which includes the story of MEGADETH traveling to Paraguay to meet and perform with young artists (and MEGADETH fans) who play classical music on instruments constructed from recycled metal and wood found in a landfill.
