The X-Men franchise has spawned a number of movies over the last nearly 20 years, but it wasn't until earlier this year that Fox brought the property to live-action television with FX's Legion.

They are now looking to continue that success with Marvel's The Gifted, the first collaboration between Fox and Marvel television. A teaser was released for the series just the other day and now a full trailer has been revealed.

Marvel's Gifted comes from the mind of Matt Nix of Burn Notice fame who wrote the first episode and is an executive producer on the show alongside Bryan Singer, Lauren Shuler Donner, Simon Kinberg, Jeph Loeb, and Jim Chory, which is described as an action-adventure family drama that tells the story of a suburban couple, played by Stephen Moyer and Amy Acker, who has their normal lives shaken up by the discovery that their two children, played by Natalie Alyn Lind and Percy Hines White, possess mutant powers.

Due to this, they have to go on the run from the government, where they meet up with an underground network of mutants that they must work with to survive.

This was the simple description we were given in the past, but the full length trailer adds more to that.

In this trailer, we see that Stephen Moyer's character actually works for the government here and looks to be part of the team that rounds up mutants.

However, upon the discovery that both of his kids are mutants, he abandons that life and works to protect his family above all else.

It looks like his character will work in the morally grey area, as it looked like he was going to try and give information to someone about Lorna Dane, better known as Polaris, in exchange for his family's safety.

Marvel's The Gifted definitely looks like it's going to be a very intriguing addition to the X-Men television lineup alongside Legion, though it appears to be a very different kind of show.

We don't know when the show will premiere or what night it will air, but that information should come out Monday at the Fox upfronts.
