Unlike Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill still loves being a part of the Star Wars movie franchise and would like to come back.

Hamill has now admitted he is hoping to reprise the role of Luke Skywalker in Star Wars: Episode IX due out in 2019.

During an interview with ABC news, Mark Hamill was asked if he'd like to return to play Mark Hamill in Star Wars: Episode IX. You can see what he had to say in the comment posted down below.

"Hmmm listen, if you can’t have fun making a Star Wars movie, you have serious problems (because) I had a blast. Listen, put in a good word for me. Because it’s all in JJ's [Abrams] hands.”

Thanks to the science fiction nature of Star Wars, there's a chance Luke Skywalker can come back in Star Wars: Episode IX because he's a Jedi and Jedi are able to become Force Ghosts.

It's more than likely Hamill is returning, although Lucasfilm and Disney have yet to announce the full cast of Episode IX.

Sadly, we do know that Carrie Fisher is unable to return since she sadly pass away back in 2016.

Lucasfilm has added that they are not going to make a CGI version of Leia so the character is unlikely to return in Episode IX.

Harrison Ford won't be reprising Han Solo either for two reasons. The first is that Han Solo is not a Jedi so it's impossible for his character to become a Force Ghost.

The second reason is that Harrison Ford is surprisingly not a huge fan of Star Wars and does not want to reprise the role ever again.

Ford initially wanted Han Solo to die back when Return of the Jedi came out back in 1983!

Anyway, the script for Star Wars: Episode IX is finished and filming is to start later this year. Hopefully Hamill is able to come back because he still loves Star Wars and its many fans around the world.
