Legends of Tomorrow Co-Showrunner Teases Heartbreak and A Departure In The Finale

Legends of Tomorrow has been one wild ride this season, with last week ramping things up even further ahead of the third season finale.

With the confrontation with Mallus ahead, the Legends have their work cut out for them for sure.

With the finale for Legends of Tomorrow set to air later tonight, co-showrunner Phil Klemmer has been making the media rounds as of late, with his latest being an interview with TVLine.

In this interview, he didn't divulge too many spoilers, but did give some teases about the finale.

One part of the interview had them asking if the addition of both Jes Macallan, who plays Ava Sharpe, and Matt Ryan, who plays John Constantine, as series regulars in the upcoming season four would mean any departures from the crew in the finale.

In response, Klemmer had to say the following:

"It does, it does. There’s heartbreak in the finale. A Legend leaves."

Klemmer then went on further to confirm that at least one seat on the Waverider would be left open after the events of the finale, though we have no idea if this means by death or just leaving.The best bet for a Legend leaving would be that of Amaya, considering her story has seemingly been wrapped up and she eventually has to head back to Zambesi to let history take course.

I'm hoping that this doesn't mean something happens to Nate that leads her to go back and wipe her memory as we learned last episode.

We thought there would be a big shake-up last season, but that ended up just being Rip in the end, so we'll have to just have to wait and see what happens when the Legends of Tomorrow third season finale airs later tonight on The CW at 8 pm ET.
