Legendary WWE Manager Bobby “The Brain” Heenan Passes Away

Some sad news has hit the professional wrestling industry today. It has now been reported that WWE manager Bobby "The Brain" Heenan has passed away.

WWE broke the news on its official website today. Bobby Heenan died at the age of 73. A cause of death has yet to be determined, although he had been suffering from throat cancer over the last couple of years now. He will be remembered as one of the most charismatic figures in pro wrestling history.

Heenan made a name for himself being the manager for lots of legendary wrestlers. He's managed the likes of Andre the Giant, Big John Studd, King Kong Bundy, "Ravishing" Rick Rude, "Mr. Perfect" Curt Hennig and loads more. He was always a heel (bad guy) character, although many fans loved the way he was able to tell stories with his promos and antics. He was estimated to be worth $7-9 million at death.

In later years, he became a commentator alongside Gorilla Monsoon. I remember listening to Heenan when I was younger and he would always crack lots of funny jokes. He was a part of the original episode of Raw and even appeared for WCW Nitro too.

Story continues below....

One of the biggest achievements was when Heenan was inducted into the 2004 WWE Hall of Fame. This was one of the last major public appearances that he made for the WWE. A lot of past and current wrestlers are saddened by the death of Heenan. WWE is sure to show us a tribute video tomorrow when Monday Night Raw goes to air later this week. Heenan may be gone, but he will forever live on in our memories.
