Han Solo already has his own standalone movie with Solo: A Star Wars Story releasing in cinemas worldwide from next week.

Now it sounds like Lucasfilm is thinking about the future and a new movie might focus on Solo's best human friend Lando Carlrissian.

During an interview with Premiere Magazine, Luacsfilm President Kathleen Kennedy expressed interest in making a Lando standalone movie in the near future. You can read her comment down below.

"We think that the next spinoff will be dedicated to Lando Calrissian. Of course, there are still many stories to tell about Han and Chewbacca but Lando will be next."

Lucasfilm kind of backtracked and mentioned Lando is something they want to do in the future, but it does not mean that it's the next standalone Star Wars movie in the pipeline.

It's rumored a movie about Obi-Wan Kenobi is the next Star Wars standalone movie to be released sometime in December 2020.

The December 2020 release date could change though because Star Wars will be competing against 20th Century Fox's Avatar 2 directed by James Cameron.

In either case, Lucasfilm is still interested in making more Star Wars films so next year's Star Wars: Episode IX won't be the last one.

Donald Glover's performance as Lando Carlrissian has been praised to be one of the best parts of Solo: A Star Wars Story.

Disney and Lucasfilm could earn lots of money from a Lando movie since Donald Glover is really popular at the moment.
