The original T-Rex from Jurassic Park has been one of the most popular characters from the franchise even though it's just a dinosaur.

It has now been confirmed the "character" will be returning in Jurassic World 2 much to the delight of many fans worldwide.

A fan asked Colin Trevorrow (producer of Jurassic World 2) on Twitter about the T-Rex returning in the sequel. He replied with: "Confirmed.

Tell her when she wakes up". It is supposed to be the exact same T-Rex that appeared in Jurassic Park, so this character has been alive for quite some time.

The T-Rex made a popular return in the first Jurassic World movie. It helped the heroes fight off the Indominus Rex who was creating havoc all over the new dinosaur park.

It will be interesting how the T-Rex fits into the story of the sequel. Many of the dinosaurs in the first Jurassic World were left alone once the park got too hostile for visitors.

It's entirely possible the sequel is going to concentrate on a way to transport all of the dinosaurs to a new location.

That or they are needed to help fight off other dinosaurs that have been created.

The end of Jurassic World suggests that the character of Dr Wu was going to create an army of dinosaurs to use as weapons for the military.

Both Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard are back to reprise their roles as both Owen Grady and Claire Dearing respectively. The sequel is in production right now for a release date in June 2018. Colin Trevorrow is busy working on Star Wars: Episode IX so he had to give up directing duties to J. A. Bayona. That being said, Trevorrow is still going to be responsible for a big part of the movie's creative direction.
