John Cena is going all-out on his Hollywood career as the WWE superstar continues to land more movie roles. This time, he has landed a new role in a buddy cop movie also starring Kumail Nanjiani (The Big Sick).

As reported by Deadline, Universal wants to make a buddy cop movie with John Cena and Kumail Nanjiani in the lead roles.

Ruben Fleischer (Zombieland) will be directing the film after he is done finishing Venom for Sony Pictures. Writing the script is Murray Miller who has written films such as 'Forgetting Sarah Marshall' and 'The Five-Year Engagement'.

Kumail Nanjiani made his big break starring in the popular TV show Silicon Valley.

However, he got more famous starring in the critically acclaimed The Big Sick which came out earlier this year. This new untitled Buddy Cop movie could be great thanks to Nanjiani's experience in the comedy genre.

John Cena on the other hand is slowly transitioning from professional wrestling to become a legit Hollywood actor. He is following in the footsteps of both Dave Bautsita and Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson.

Cena has landed bigger roles as he was recently cast in the Transformers Bumblebee movie. He is also rumored to be the main star in DC's Shazam.

With Cena in Hollywood, the WWE has to rely on its other stars to carry the company. WWE owner Vince McMahon has been pushing Romen Reigns to be the face of the company.

The Reigns experiement is still ongoing despite lots of fans booing him day in and day out.

It will be interesting to see how much more Cena is going to wrestle in the WWE. It seems as if he wants to retire very soon to concentrate on his Hollywood career.
