On its 20 year journey "The Opie and Anthony Show" grew from famous to infamous when while working on Boston radio the pair played an April Fool's Day Prank by announcing that then Mayor Tom Menino had died.

That joke went horribly awry, leading to the pair being fired, but it paved the way for comedian Jim Norton to eventually become part of the show.

He thanked Menino, who passed away earlier this week after a long battle with cancer, for inadvertently setting him on the career path which led to his current job as co-host of "Opie with Jim Norton" on SiriusXM satellite radio.

Norton, a successful comedian as well, also hosts a talk show for Vice.com.
