On the Howard Stern Show Tuesday morning, Jim Carrey opened up to Howard Stern about his pot smoking habits.

"Don't smoke pot," Carrey advocated. "I've had an addition to pot from time to time."

When the pressure gets going, so do the joints, and Carrey admitted to smoking marijuana and becoming addicted to the habit.

While some people can use it is a creative generator, Carrey finds that it hinders his creativity, and that's why he told Stern to just say no to drugs.

"I'm not able to create, and I need to stop," he said.

Carrey is a very spiritual person, and has talked about his experiences with the known hallucinogen DMT. But he strongly urges everyone to lay off the weed.

"I have friends who smoke so much weed they can't literally get off the couch," Stern said.

It's been considered that smoking marijuana is not inherently addictive, but Carrey has a different opinion. "It doesn't have to be a scientifically addictive thing. It's habit forming," Carrey said.

Carrey didn't have to go to rehab, but he has been involved with programs to get rid of his addictive pot smoking habits.

Carrey was on the Stern Show to promote his new movie "Dumb and Dumber To." Stern, who watched it before meeting with Carrey, absolutely loves it and thinks its a hysterical movie.

Good thing Carrey didn't light up so we could enjoy his newest funny hit.
