Wednesday morning on The Howard Stern Show, comedian Larry David finally arrived to the Stern studio.

Larry David is best known for co-creating hit sitcom "Seinfeld," and was its head writer and executive producer until 1996.

Since Seinfeld, David has starred on "Curb Your Enthusiasm." He also briefly wrote for "Saturday Night Live," and won a Primetime Emmy for Seinfeld in 1993.

But before David was a comedy legend, he was a veteran and odd job worker.

David talked to Stern about being in the reserves, and working as a cab driver and other weird jobs that had nothing to do with show business.

David told Stern about crying the first night he was in the reserves, and how the drill sergeants would appear in the bunks before 5 am and just scream at them.

David was released from the reserves after he went to see a psychiatrist, and acted crazy in order to be deemed crazy. He said it never occurred to him that he could just say he was a homosexual.

When David returned home, he tried his hand at odd jobs like private chauffeur, before he was hired as a writer at Saturday Night Live. Unfortunately, David's skits kept getting cut before the show, so it was a frustrating and unfulfilling job.

He eventually blew up at his boss and stormed out, only to return on Monday morning like nothing happened. This event later inspired an episode of Seinfeld, where most of the episodes are based on real events.

He's since become an American icon, and is currently starring in a Broadway debut of "Fish in the Dark."

Hey Now Highlights

Today was the anniversary of Scott the Engineer's push up challenge. The challenge happened 17 years ago, and Scott came in to the studio to say he was 62 on this day.

Stern replayed the clips of the push up challenge, and commented on how Scott didn't even complete all the push ups he was supposed to.

Scott defended himself, saying he did do all the push ups, and the judge agreed.

Stern mentioned that they just forfeited the money winnings because Scott went "berserk." Stern continued to rag on Scott, wondering why he was voted the most interesting man on HowardStern.com.
