Today is National Talk Like a Pirate Day. And, in observance of the event, gaming companies are posting on Twitter to show their holiday spirit.

Ubisoft, the company behind the Assassin's Creed games, posted a compilation of characters from Assassin's Creed IV:Black Flag--a title set in the golden age of piracy.

Ubisoft boasted via Twitter that they "be celebrating" with historical pirates, including: Charles Vane, Benjamin Hornigold, Edward Thatch (aka Blackbeard), and James Kidd.

Microsoft posted a picture of the "pirate controller" for their flagship console, the Xbox One. Highlighting the "Arrrrr" trigger, the company was trying to reciprocate the spirit of the day.

The staff of Puzzle Pirates, however, is doing a promotion for Talk Like a Pirate Day. Sega posted the promotion via Twitter--providing a link to the official blog of the game.

"To celebrate Talk Like a Pirate Day, the Ocean Masters have scheduled special tournaments and puzzle competitions," it was stated on the Puzzle Pirates blog, "Keep a weather eye on the Notice Board in-game to catch them!"

This, however, was not the extent to which Puzzle Pirates would celebrate.

"Be sure ye talk piratey-like while visiting the inns and other public places in Puzzle Pirates on Talk Like a Pirate Day! We'll be takin' notes, an' you could find yerself rewarded the mere act o' usin' proper pirate lingo," the blog stated.
